"My name is Tim Martin, I also go by my Graffiti Artist name SLAZ. Although my art is rooted in illustration and graffiti art, I present myself within my practice as a 'versatile artist' as I have a lot of experience using a wide range of art materials and techniques, and creating imagery for many different briefs / subject matters.

My work is mostly divided between taking commissions for illustrations and murals, and running workshops for all ages and abilities, with a particular focus on youth group street art and graffiti themed workshops. I have worked with DNA Youth Consultancy a number of times over the last year, and have found it to be a very positive experience.

Firstly, from my own perspective as the main facilitator of these workshops, it has been a pleasure with regards to DNA's clarity and ease of communication with regards to organising, planning and setting up the workshops themselves.

This often-overlooked step is vital to get right , as the workshops are run on-site, in different venues with their own unique layout and facilities, which - especially when taking into account the variety of materials we may need - requires a thorough, clear and organised vision of how things will work, so we can prepare in advance according to budget and create an accurately outlined risk assessment. Every time I have worked with DNA this process has been creative, quick, stress free and easy to navigate, which I truly appreciate as a workshop runner.

Second, the DNA team themselves and other workshop facilitators who are present on site are always fantastic - very organised, easy to get along with, brilliant at engaging with the workshop runners and, of course, participants, and are absolutely on top of safeguarding and any hazards outlined in the risk assessment.

When we are running our respective workshops, it feels like we are all on the same team, and there is a overall good vibe, which the participants definitely pick up on and it makes for an very productive and positive environment for everybody present!

I would not hesitate to recommend DNA youth consultancy to any prospective clients or workshop facilitators such as myself, and I am looking forward to the oppourtunity of working with them again soon! "
